This registerable instrument is prepared when there is a transfer of title between parties over land that holds a Certificate of Occupancy. The Assignor transfers their unexpired interest in a property to an Assignee via the Governor’s consent as delegated to the Hon. Commissioner for Lands & Water Resources via Section 22 of the Land Use Act.

Application Requirements With Consideration
- Executed Deed of Assignment
- Survey Plan (optional: needed only if part of the Land is excised)
- Passport photographs of Assignor & Assignee
- Stamp Duty (3% of Consideration)
- Stamp duty sealing fees: ₦1000
- Payment of Accrued Ground Rent
- Deeds Approval Fee: 5% of Assessed Value
- Non refundable application fee: ₦10,000
- Late Registration Fee: ₦10,000 (applicable one year after execution date of Deed of Assignment)
- Certificate of Incorporation (for companies only)
- Inspection/Assessment to obtain Approval-in-principle

- Late Registration Fee: ₦10,000 (applicable one year after execution date of Deed of Assignment)
- Certificate of Incorporation (for companies)
- Inspection/Assessment to obtain Approval-in-principle
