About Akwa Ibom State
The Ministry of Lands and Water Resources is one of the twenty Ministries in Akwa Ibom State and has assumed different names since the creation of the State in September 1987. It was a Bureau of Lands, Housing and Urban Development up to 1999, when it was elevated to full fledge Ministry and named Ministry of Lands, Housing, Survey and Town Planning.
The name Ministry of Lands and Town Planning came about in 2007 following the restructuring that led to the creation of a new Ministry – Ministry f Housing and Urban Renewal. Presently, in July,2019 the name was changed to Ministry of Lands and Water Resources following the restructuring of some MDAs in Akwa Ibom State by His Excellency, Governor Udom G. Emmanuel.
